The Friends of the Pembroke Library

The Friends augment the work of the Library Board of Trustees in gaining support for library improvement, creating public awareness of the role of the library in the community, providing financial support beyond the library's budget limits, encouraging gifts and endowments to the library, and supporting legislation important to libraries.

The Friends sponsor several fundraisers each year, including a book & bake sale every spring & fall, an annual basket raffle and an annual mystery night.

Yearly dues are $10 for an individual membership or $50 for a corporate sponsor. Membership is renewed each January. To join, stop in the library for an application or click on the membership form below, and mail your check payable to the Friends of the Pembroke Library to the Pembroke Library, 142 Center St., Pembroke, MA 02359 with the following information: Name, Address, Phone Number and Email address.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Pembroke Library
Volunteers accomplish many functions at the library. Some of the tasks they assist with are: making phone calls, processing books, leading adult and youth programs, and keeping the building neat in appearance, both indoors and out. Many young people complete their community service requirements by helping in the children's room.

Make a Donation
Donations of materials are accepted during open hours with the understanding that they may or may not be added to the collection, sold or discarded. We do not accept magazines or encyclopedias. All materials must be in good, usable or saleable, condition. The library does not provide evaluation of gifts for tax deduction or other purposes but will provide a receipt if desired.

The Pembroke Library Foundation

If you are interested in joining the Foundation, please let us know. The Foundation will raise funds to support programs that regular income sources can not.
