Frequently Asked Questions
Entering & Browsing in the Library
How will the library look when I come back? We have worked to streamline browsing to make your trip as easy as possible. Books are displayed so you can pick them up easily. We have signage to guide you in navigating the library and help in social distancing. Visit our Facebook photo album for a preview of our new layout!
Can I sit and stay to read or work? At this time, we ask that no one stay in the building for extended periods. Some chairs are available as Resting Stations for patrons who need a break from standing or walking, but no seating is provided at the tables or for lounging.
Will my children be able to stay-and-play? At this time, we have no toys available and are discouraging any and all lingering. If you would like to explore some new toys, feel free to check out a bag Kit that includes a book and at least one themed play item; we also have At-Home Education Kits now available. There are lots of options including instruments, wooden puzzles, and magnetic play sets.
Does my child need to wear a mask? Massachusetts guidelines state that "face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2. For children between the ages of 2 and 5, it is up to the child’s parents or guardians to decide if the child should wear one." All other persons must wear a mask.
What if I can't wear a mask or cloth face covering? The library still offering Curbside Pickup so you can get your items safely. For questions or assistance with other library services, please feel free to reach out via phone (781-293-6771), email (feedback@pembrokepubliclibrary.org), or social media.
