The Friends augment the work of the Library Board of Trustees in gaining support for library improvement, creating public awareness of the role of the library in the community, providing financial support beyond the library's budget limits, encouraging gifts and endowments to the library, and supporting legislation important to libraries.
Book & Bake Sales, Gift Baskets Raffle and a July Silent Auction are some of the fundraisers the Friends sponsor each year. Through our fundraisers and Annual Membership Drive, the Friends are able to provide many extras for The Pembroke Public Library including :
The Friends always welcome new members. Memberships are renewed in January of each year, but anyone can join at anytime. Yearly dues are $10 for an individual membership, or a family can join for only $20. An annual business sponsorship is only $50, which includes recognition on our new web page, as well as our mailings, newsletters and other materials.
To join, stop by the library for an application or click on the membership form below. Mail your check payable to the Friends of the Pembroke Library and completed form to The Pembroke Public Library, 142 Center Street, Pembroke, MA 02359.
