There are many ways to help and support your Library!
Libraries exist to serve, but they also need your support. Volunteers can help with daily library tasks. Donations help build our collection and fund the library through books sales. Financial support to provide expanded services is also needed and appreciated.
Material Donations

Donated items become the property of the Pembroke Public Library. Donations are not accepted with any usage conditions. The Library reserves the right to keep, refuse, discard, donate, sell, or give to the Friends of the Pembroke Library to sell any donated materials. -per the Donations, Gifts, & Fundraising Policy, approved by the Board of Trustees January 15, 2025

Donations of materials are accepted during open hours with the understanding that they may or may not be added to the collection, sold, or discarded. The library does not provide evaluation of gifts for tax deduction or other purposes but will provide a receipt if desired. Containers (boxes/bags) that donations are brought should be considered part of the donation.
Items are sold by the Friends of the Pembroke Public Library to support their mission. Please bring donations into the library during regular hours. |
We accept:
Donated items should be in excellent, like-new condition. Donated books should have no yellowed pages, stains, dust, rips/tears, pen/pencil marks, mold, or water damage. Donated DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks must be playable with no cracks and little to no scratches. |
The Library can provide a donation acknowledgement letter, but cannot assign monetary value to donated items. If you want a donation acknowledgement letter, please ask for one when dropping off your donation.
Book Dedications
The Library gratefully accepts donations in celebration or in memory of a loved one. Your generous donation ($25 per material) will be acknowledged with a personalized bookplate. The Honoree or the Honoree's loved ones will be notified by the Library of your thoughtful gift as soon as the order process has been completed.

Other Monetary Donations
The Pembroke Public Library gratefully accepts financial gifts and donations. Contact the Library Director, Julia Nee, by calling 781-293-6771 or emailing jnee[at]sailsinc[dot]org for more information and to find out how your donation can be used to make a difference at your Library.

Volunteer at the Pembroke Public Library
Volunteers accomplish many functions at the library. Some of the tasks adult volunteers may assist with include craft preparation, assistance with programs, and organizing or cleaning the Library both indoors and out.
High school students interested in community service can visit our Teen Volunteer page to find out more!
Adults interested in volunteering may fill out a copy of the Adult Volunteer Application and submit it by email or in person at the front desk. A copy can be downloaded by clicking this link or requested at the front desk.
