Who can participate in Summer Reading?
Everyone! Kids and teens each have their own Read & Bead Club. Babies and toddlers not yet in Kindergarten can join 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Adults can join Pages & Prizes.

How do I get prizes for Summer Reading?
Track the minutes and/or hours you read each day. Every time you visit the Library you can turn in your hours read for prizes. Save up for something big or get lots of little things... the choice is yours! Read and repeat!

What are the prizes?
- 2 hours of reading = Gummy candy or mini button/pin
- 4 hours of reading = Small squishy or novelty eraser
- 6 hours of reading = Yo-yo or rubber duck (and more!)
- 8 hours of reading = Novelty pen or fidget keychain (and more!)
- 10 hours of reading = Book or drawstring backpack
How do I log the minutes and hours I read?
Your can either log them online via your Beanstack account, pick up a reading log at the library, use a paper log that you print at home (download link below), or just write your times on a regular piece of paper. If you log on paper, library staff will check off your log each time you visit for prizes.

What do I need to read for school?
All Pembroke Public School Students may visit the school's Summer Learning page for elementary, middle, and high school required reading and suggested resources, activities, and links to engage children and teens in math and reading throughout the summer.

Pembroke Public Schools Summer Reading
Pembroke High School Students: Visit PHS's Summer Work page to review reading and assignment requirements for your upcoming grade and/or classes.
Pembroke Community Middle School Students: Rising 7th and 8th grade students are expected to select and read a book, either from the recommended list or one of their choosing, then answer six selected questions.
